I have 20+ years experience in graphic design, 3+ years in content engineering and varying levels of skill in digital. I use tools for print and digital to deliver results, handle relationships with cross-functional content teams. I seek reusable ways to automate and publish content for platforms and publications, provide workflow solutions for managing content, and ensure brand identity.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER
I utilize my 20+ years experience as a designer to create user-center experiences, apply proficient graphic and instructional design skills, conceptualize and develop with meticulous attention to detail in digital design. I ensure brand alignment between program components on all platforms. I create prototypes in InDesign, construct InDesign XML templates, reformat XML source code for InDesign import (applying tags to styles mapping). I am able to test & revise document type definitions (DTDs) and use GREPS (basic level) in Adobe InDesign.

CONTENT ENGINEER
I help author many processes and procedures, work with development teams discovering, assessing, and delivering content workflows (print-to-digital and digital-only solutions), additionally providing solutions for management of digital assets. I implement reusable automated ways to publish digital content from print tools like InDesign for application developers. I am knowledgeable in extracting metadata from print for digital apps in development and able to understand complex technical project details and communicate them simply to non-technical audiences.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER | CONTENT ENGINEER
An example of where I combine both skillsets, I use tools like XPath & InDesign to create XML structures by defining patterns in content with XML rules (see website demo). I have experience validating structured XML for print & digital app consumption, mocking up ERDs, and making data models for CMS (eg, Directus CMS). I have built an authoring framework in Oxygen XML (see website demo) and extracted metadata from InDesign files for WoodWing.
